Reviews
Some things on GeoHazardWatch wait for someone to say yes before they happen: for example, a new owner asking to be added through a public form, or an owner adding or removing another owner. Each of these is a request, and the people who may decide it see it on the Reviews page.
Who sees a request
Each request names the permission needed to decide it. You see a request only when you hold that permission. If you hold none of them, the page says nothing is waiting for you.
When a request is made, everyone who may decide it gets a notification. One decision is enough: once someone approves or rejects it, it leaves everyone's list.
What each request shows
- What it is about, and one line saying what approving it does.
- When it was asked, in your own time zone, and who asked (nothing is shown when whoever asked was not signed in).
- The details you need to decide, such as the name and email given on the form.
Approving and rejecting
- Approve carries the request out straight away, for example by creating the account and sending the invitation. The page then says what was done, and the request leaves the list.
- Reject closes the request. Nothing is carried out.
- Note is optional. Write why, if it will help whoever reads it later; it is kept with your decision.
When an approval cannot be carried out
Sometimes the work behind a request cannot be done at that moment, for example because email is not working. The request then stays on the list, marked with what went wrong and when. Nothing was carried out. Once the problem is fixed, approve it again.
Reviews not turned on
The page says so when this site does not keep requests. An administrator can see why on the admin dashboard.
